An exceptional experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, the entire team made my parents and me feel genuinely welcome. A special mention to our server, William, who was incredibly attentive and enthusiastic, taking the time to walk us through each dish with care and passion. He was truly excited each time! 🤣
I had been wanting to treat my mom to a truly special dinner for her birthday, and choosing Five Sails and their tasting menu turned out to be the perfect decision, exceeding my expecatations. The food was outstanding, thoughtful, and beautifully executed. My only regret was not opting for the wine pairing, which I’ll absolutely be doing next time.
Chef Alex elevated the evening even further by inviting us into the kitchen, giving us a glimpse behind the scenes and offering a refreshing palate-cleansing bite. That personal touch made the night feel even more meaningful.
All in all, it was a memorable and heartfelt dining experience. Will definitely be returning for future special occasions :)

Five Sails is insane.
I visited a few years ago and had a great experience, but my recent visit truly exceeded expectations. I tried the 2026 Dine Out menu, and every single dish was beautifully presented, thoughtfully crafted, and packed with deep, well-balanced flavours.
Every dish was a 10 out of 10.
The Ahi Tuna Crudo and the Filet Mignon were standout favourites, but the biggest surprise was the dessert. I usually don’t enjoy lemon and I’m not a fan of panna cotta, yet I absolutely loved the Lemon Panna Cotta.
The experience was so good that I immediately booked another reservation to bring my family and left dinner as a new fan of Chef Alex Kim!!!!
Our server was incredibly attentive and kind, and everyone we interacted with greeted us warmly.
I hope this review convinces others to try Five Sails, and I can’t wait to visit again!

The view during the day may be better. There wasnt much to see from the awkward lounge seats in the back. The seating is very awkward where you sit next to your dinner mate instead of sitting facing them. The servers come to talk to you and serve you from the front. The service itself was good, but the awkward atmosphere made it uncomfortable.
Food for the dine out menu was very good. The filet mignon was excellent. I dont know how the lean cut of meat actually tastes so juicy. The presentation of the food was very good. They also offered additional amuse bouche.
The honey bread tastes like fresh asian bakery bread. Was so good.
Tuna crudo was a bit disappointing. It used to have a crispy side, but this one had radishes for the crunch and it wasnt as good.
Dessert tasted great. A bit small, but taste was good.

Beautiful setting with stellar views to celebrate Vancouver. Service was impeccable, to a very high standard (have never seen double-ironing of tablecloths on the table!), and Martina was lovely. Dining choices were for either the Table D'Hote (4 or 6 courses, though an 'amuse bouche' was considered a course) or Dine Out menu. Honey-rosemary rolls were divine, mains of filet mignon and sablefish were excellent. The only miss was the 'Honey' dessert, which looked lovely but didn't taste like much.

We recently had Christmas Eve dinner at the Five Sails Restaurant. It was a wonderful experience overall. Host did a great job to seat us in our preferred location All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Food was presented well and for the most part was flavourful.
Restaurant ambience was nice, inviting and relaxing.
Price point was on par for the type of restaurant, food quality and level of service.
The restaurant has no affiliation with the Pan Pacific hotel as they are privately owned, however you can charge to your room.
Thanks for the positive experience and great Christmas memories.
